A Season of Gratitude

Tina Haapala | NOV 1, 2022

How often do you think about what you are thankful for? As we move into the holiday season, we are reminded to count our blessings, many of which involve the family and friends around the dinner table on Thanksgiving.

But there's no reason we need to wait until then (or stop when the last turkey sandwich from the leftovers has been eaten). A sense of gratitude can help us on a daily basis. This month, consider creating a new habit. Take a few minutes out of the day to appreciate three different things you are grateful for. Some days it will be easy. Maybe you finally spent some quality time with your significant other. Maybe you made it to the gym two days in a row. Whatever it is, celebrate it.

And on the days when things seem to be fighting against you, finding the smallest victories from the day will help you to keep perspective. You have one breath following the other, and so on.

Sometimes it's the smallest gifts that generate the biggest feelings of gratitude.
